The Golf Club Teutoburg Forest is a golf club from Hall in Gütersloh . The men's team played in the 2nd Bundesliga from 2014 to 2017 .

history

The association was founded on May 28, 1990. The association is named after the Teutoburg Forest that runs through Halle . Two years later, the nine-hole golf course opened on June 6th . The course is located in the Eggeberg district on the slope of the Große Egge . In 1998 the course was expanded to 18 holes and a driving range was opened. In 2002 the club opened its new club house. Five years later the course was expanded to include 27 holes. Since then, the club has had a red course with 18 holes and a green course with nine holes. On May 26th, 2009 the Golf Club Teutoburger Wald was awarded a 5-star golf course by the Federal Association of Golf Courses.

The Teutoburg Forest Golf Club hosted the Schüco Open in 2010 . World-class players such as Bernhard Langer , Martin Kaymer and Colin Montgomerie took part in the event sponsored by the Bielefeld company Schüco . Montgomerie won the tournament in front of 7,000 spectators. The men's team made it to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2014. Three years later, the team had to relegate again. The club's most successful player is Timo Vahlenkamp, ​​who became German champion in the age group of 18 in 2016.
