Gondar is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .
Gondar is part of the Vila Nova de Cerveira district in the Viana do Castelo district . The community had an area of 3.6 km² and 127 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Gondar and Candemil were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Candemil e Gondar .
