Goodacre is an impact crater to the south of the lunar front , southwest of Mare Nectaris , south of Pontanus crater and north of Gemma Frisius , the rim of which it touches. The Goodacre G secondary crater is superimposed on the point of contact . The crater is moderately eroded, the interior is largely flat and has a central mountain .

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the British amateur astronomer Walter Goodacre .
