Google Answers
Google Answers was a digital information service provided by the US company Google . It was offered in English from April 2002 to November 2006 .
Implementation and calculation
The corporate services offered individual research services for a fee. The research was carried out by employees (so-called “Google Answers Researchers”), of whom there were an estimated 500. These employees worked on a freelance basis and were not employees of the company.
The customer could make a request and decide what price to pay for a response. Employees got 75% of the price of the answer. Google kept 25% percent and an additional $ 0.5, these were collected as administration fees, even if the question could not be answered.
If the request was answered, the customer could also give some kind of tip . If the answer was not clear, the customer could also request further clarifications.
In addition to the question and answer that only the customer and the researcher could edit, each question also had a comment section in which every registered member could add their comments.

After Google Answers was closed on December 1, 2006, Google started a relaunch called Google Questions and Answers , which got by without a payment function. In 2007 a Russian version ( Russian Вопросы и ответы ) and in 2009 an Arabic version ( Arabic إجابات Google) started. Since June 23, 2014, the websites were only readable, no more questions could be asked or answered. All content was deleted on April 30, 2015.
