Google Fonts
Google Fonts (formerly Google Web Fonts ) is an interactive directory with over 900 fonts that Google LLC has made available for free use.
Details
Google Fonts was launched in 2010 and has been updated since then. Many fonts are published under the SIL Open Font License , while others are published under the Apache license . In both cases, the licenses are free software . This means that every website operator can use them freely without being burdened with license fees. Popular fonts include Lato , Ubuntu, and Droid Sans , among others .
privacy
Google Fonts offers the option of using fonts on your own website without having to upload them to your own server. In this case, when a user accesses the website, the fonts are reloaded via a Google server. This external call causes data to be transmitted to Google. However, it is also possible to integrate fonts locally on your own server or web space. To do this, the Google Fonts used must be downloaded and uploaded to your own website. This disconnects the connection to the Google server and prevents information from being transmitted to Google.
