While the “preview” version of Lens primarily recognized texts, product photos, works of art and monuments, the final version can also identify animals and plants.

Functions

Google Lens makes it possible to obtain relevant information through visual analysis. If z. For example, if the device's camera points to a WiFi sticker with the network name and password, it will automatically connect to the scanned network; when the camera is aimed at an object, Lens attempts to identify the object and display relevant search results and information. Lens is also integrated with the Google Photos and Google Assistant apps. The service is similar to Google Goggles , a previous program that worked similarly but is less powerful. Lens uses more advanced deep learning routines , similar to other applications such as Bixby Vision and Image Analysis Toolset; Artificial neural networks are used to recognize and identify objects, landmarks, and to improve text recognition .
