Gopalganj is a city in the Indian state of Bihar .
The city is the administrative seat of the district of the same name . Gopalganj is about 140 km from Bihar's capital Patna . Gopalganj has the status of a City Council ( Nagar parishad ). The city is divided into 28 wards (constituencies). The Gopalganj Nagar parishad had 67,339 inhabitants on the cut-off date of the 2011 census, of whom 34,603 were men and 32,736 women.
