A painting on the Goransa tells of the legend of the "falling flowers".

The Goransa is a Buddhist temple in Buyeo-gun County in South Korea . It is located on the Baengmagang River , surrounded by the Nakwaam Rock . Its construction time is unknown, but it is believed that it was built towards the end of the Baekje rule and served as a resting domicile for the Baekje kings. Since the temple was built between two rock walls, there is only one large shrine, a bedroom for the monks and a bell pavilion.

Legends

Behind the temple is the Goranjeong mineral fountain, where the so-called Gorancho herbs ( Crypsinus hastatus ) grow. Legend has it that its water has rejuvenating power. A cup of it is said to be younger by three years. As proof that it is the water from the Goranjeong fountain, the cup is garnished with the Gorancho herbs. The Baekje kings are said to have drunk the water in the fountain at least once a day. Another story tells of a man who drank so much of the water that he turned back into a baby.

On the Nakwaam , the "rock of 3,000 falling flowers", 3,000 civil servants are said to have thrown themselves to their deaths when the Baekje Kingdom was conquered by the combined forces of the Chinese and the Silla Empire.
