Gordon MacDonald

Gordon MacDonald (born January 2, 1960 in Glasgow ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Scottish National Party .

Life

McDonald attended Cumbernauld High School and the Central College of Commerce in Glasgow and the Glasgow College of Technology . He then worked in various companies, most recently at a local transport company. In 1975 he joined the SNP and held various posts, including that of deputy treasurer.

Political career

For the first time MacDonald ran for the 2011 general election to national elections. In his constituency of Edinburgh Pentlands , he immediately won the highest percentage of votes, replacing the conservative David McLetchie . This is the first time he has been sitting in the Scottish Parliament since 2011 .
