Gospel blues

Gospel Blues or Holy Blues ( Holy Blues ) is on the blues -based form of gospel music that has existed since the early days of blues music and blues guitar with Christian combines texts.

Important representatives of the gospel blues include Blind Willie Johnson , Sister Rosetta Tharpe , Reverend Gary Davis and Washington Phillips .

Blues musicians such as Boyd Rivers , Blind Lemon Jefferson , Charley Patton , Sam Collins , Josh White , Blind Boy Fuller , Blind Willie Mctell , Bukka White , Sleepy John Estes and Skip James published gospel blues, often under pseudonyms .

Among the blues musicians who have devoted themselves to the Christian faith or even became preachers include the Reverend Robert Wilkins and Ishman Bracey .
