The Gothic House in Schulpforte , a part of the Naumburg district of Bad Kösen in the Burgenland district in Saxony-Anhalt , was built around 1516/17 after dendrochronological studies. The late Gothic building is a protected architectural monument as part of the former Cistercian Abbey of Pforta .

description

The Gothic House is the only surviving medieval building on the monastery estate. The building with its open groin-vaulted hall on the ground floor probably served as a carriage shed . There was likely modest accommodation upstairs. The windows on the south and north sides date from the 17th to 19th centuries.
