The Gottesackerkirche is in Schmölln , a town in the Altenburger Land district of Thuringia .

Today's cemetery chapel was the former hospital church . The small rectangular hall church was built around 1482. She has a three-sided end of the choir . A pointed roof turret rises from the slate-covered gable roof . In 1884 the church was renewed. The organ with 8 registers, divided into a manual and a pedal, was built in 1839 by Ernst Poppe & Sohn and renewed in 1913 by Jehmlich Orgelbau Dresden .
