Gottfried Schmitt (Imperial Judge)

Gottfried Schmitt (born December 8, 1865 in Berlin , † March 10, 1919 ) was a German judge .

Life

He was the son of the "father of inheritance law" of the BGB , Gottfried Schmitt (1827–1908). During his studies in 1883 he became a member of the Germania Würzburg fraternity . Schmitt entered the Bavarian traineeship in 1887 and passed the second state examination in 1890. In 1891 he first became an unskilled worker in the State Ministry of Justice and in the same year came as a district judge at the District Court of Munich I. In 1893 he returned to the State Ministry of Justice to serve . In 1895 he was promoted to second public prosecutor while continuing to work in the ministry. In 1898 he was promoted to the District Court Councilor at the District Court of Munich I , and in 1899 to the First District Court Public Prosecutor with continued use in the State Ministry. In 1901 he was appointed government councilor in the State Ministry of Justice and in 1903 promoted to senior government councilor. In 1908 he came to the Imperial Court. He was co-editor of the magazine for the Bavarian notary's office. He was a collaborator in the commentary of the Reich Court Councils on the Civil Code.
