Gottfried Thiele

Gottfried Thiele (born November 23, 1936 in Taubenheim ; † February 9, 2006 in Radebeul ) was a German regional historian in Saxony, author , city and district council and justice of the peace . He reached the peak of his fame through television in the GDR in the 1980s.

Gottfried Thiele was the son of a pastor. He lived in Radebeul- Naundorf since 1962 and worked as an engineer at the Planeta printing press plant until 1991 . As a modest, reluctant person to be in public, he campaigned for the common good in many institutions and groups, for example in local politics and as head of the Radebeul branch of the aid organization Weißer Ring .

Gottfried Thiele published numerous works on regional historical topics.
