Karl Gottlob Obenland (born February 2, 1871 in Ilsfeld ; † June 3, 1966 there ) was a farmer and member of the state parliament ( Württemberg Farmers and Vineyards Association ).

biography

Obenland comes from a farming family proven in Ilsfeld for centuries. He initially worked in his parents' farm, where from 1890, as a horse keeper, he also took over transport services with stones from the Ilsfeld quarries for road construction and later for the construction of the Bottwartal Railway . During the great Ilsfeld fire in 1904, he was deputy fire chief, triggered the first alarm and tried to extinguish the fire. In the following period he was a member of the citizens' committee from 1905 and a councilor from 1909 to 1933.

He gained achievements in 1912 was carried out electrification of the rebuilt town, was for many years vice mayor, tax experts at the tax office Bietigheim, Anerbenrichter the district court Besigheim, local peasant leader and board member of the Loan Fund. On the occasion of his 80th birthday in 1951, he was made an honorary citizen of his hometown Ilsfeld.
