The Gould Bay is a bay in the southern Antarctic Weddell Sea . It is located at the connection between the Filchner-Ronne Ice Shelf and the northeast corner of Berkner Island . The bay was the location of Ellsworth Station .
Participants of the American Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947-1948) discovered them. Expedition leader Finn Ronne named it after the American geologist and geographer Laurence McKinley Gould (1896-1995), deputy leader of the Byrd Antarctic Expedition (1928-1930).
