The Government Institutions Pension Fund (GIPF) is the state pension - Fund in Namibia . It is based in Windhoek and takes on tasks similar to a pension fund , but only for government employees and government companies .
With fixed assets of 116 billion Namibian dollars, the GIPF is one of the largest in Africa and one of the few that can cover its liabilities from its own assets.
The fund has received several awards from the Institute of Retirement Funds Africa (IRFA).
