Green Hill (Aschersleben)
The Green Hill is a not yet excavated Neolithic burial mound , perhaps crowned by a menhir, near Aschersleben in the Salzland district ( Saxony-Anhalt ).
location
The Green Hill is located about two kilometers northeast of the center of Aschersleben near the Güstener Straße industrial park . It can be reached via a dirt road that runs parallel to federal road 6 . There are numerous other burial mounds and menhirs in the area. About 2.5 km to the north-north-west of the open field stands the blue goose menhir and about 3 km to the south-south-west between Schierstädter Straße and the railroad tracks is the Speckseite , a menhir on a burial mound. About 1 km south of Aschersleben between the federal highway 180 and the Birkenweg there is a partially built over burial mound, another kilometer south of the Dreihügelberg. Another burial mound is located northwest of Klein Schierstedt .
description
The hill is overgrown with trees and heavily interspersed with animal structures. On the hill is a stone 1 m high, 0.25 m wide and 0.25 m deep, which could perhaps be a menhir.
