Groats pot

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In heraldry , the groats pot is a heraldic figure that came from Friesland in various coats of arms . According to a legend, Frisian women put this pot of hot groats over the heads of the inactive elves of the dwarf king Finn , in order to make them flee. Another time it struck the Danes in the war, because the Frisian men had left the battlefield despondent. Hot cabbage , which plays a role at Pidder Lüng, is also conceivable .

The representation of the grist pot in the coat of arms is similar to the grapen and occasionally the mixing spoon protrudes from the pot. The coloring follows the heraldic tinging .
