The tombstone for Shabbatai Elkanan da Rieti is now in the Museo civico medievale in the northern Italian city ​​of Bologna .

The tombstone from 1546 comes from the medieval Jewish cemetery of Bologna in Via Orfeo, which was abolished in 1569 due to the papal bull Cum nimis absurdum . The Renaissance- style tombstone depicts a mascaron in the lower part and above it a young man holds the inscription tablet, which is flanked by two putti . The tombstone is crowned by a structure with a coat of arms.
