Graffiti (radio broadcast)
Graffiti was a music broadcast by WDR 1 , the forerunner of today's radio station 1 Live . The music show started in 1984 and was mainly dedicated to independent music productions from the punk , wave , electronic and crossover environment.
Until the end of 1986 graffiti was moderated by Günther Janssen. Then broke Thomas Elbern (known as a musician in Pink Turns Blue and Escape With Romeo ) Janssen, and moderated the consignment until its dismissal in 1995. Elbern always took care 25 to 30 percent of its program of independent music from the German region to dedicate what was unusual at that time, which was dominated by English and American music, and thus supported the new generation of independent German musicians.
Graffiti was initially broadcast weekly on Tuesday, later on a bi-weekly rhythm with longer airtime. With the redesign of WDR 1 to 1 Live , the broadcast was discontinued.
