Díptico de Galicia

The Díptico Ciclista Internacional de Galicia is a Spanish road racing - racing series .

The Díptico de Galicia consists of the one-day races Gran Premio Cidade de Vigo (Spanish: Gran Premio Ciudad de Vigo ) and Gran Premio Área Metropolitana . The racing series has been held since 2004, with both races taking place in the Galician city ​​of Vigo . From 2004 to 2006 the series was an event for cycling professionals and since 2007 it has only been a national race.

In the first two events, an overall classification for cycling teams was formed, but this has not been done since 2006. Portuguese teams were able to win in both events : the ASC team in 2004 and Paredes Rota dos Móveis in 2005 .

Gran Premio Cidade de Vigo

The Gran Premio Cidade de Vigo has been held since 1970 and was held for the 35th time in 2008. The race was held as a professional event from 2000 to 2006. After the introduction of the UCI Europe Tour in 2005, it was part of this racing series for two years and classified in UCI category 1.2.

Gran Premio Área Metropolitana

The Gran Premio Área Metropolitana was held for the first time in 2004, so that the Díptico de Galicia could form. This race was also classified in UCI category 1.2 of the UCI Europe Tour in 2005 and 2006. Both races were run as separate races by the UCI, similar to the Mallorca Challenge , the Díptico de Galicia was not classified as a tour. The Gran Premio Área Metropolitana was run for the last time in 2007, and the GP Ciudad de Vigo (b) has been the second part of the Diptico since 2012 .
