The Étang de Mittersheim (also: Lac Vert , German: Mittersheimer Weiher ) is a body of water in the Grand Est region in France , in the Moselle department near Mittersheim . It is part of the Lorraine Lake District in the Lorraine Regional Nature Park . It covers an area of more than 2.2 km² and is 233 meters above sea level.
It has served as a feeding pond for the Saar Canal since 1920. The Saar Canal runs past the pond to the west. The Stockweiher begins about five kilometers south .
leisure
As a tourist destination, you can swim, sail, surf, row and pedal boats in the pond. A campsite can be found on the shore.
The pond is also interesting for anglers. Driving with motor boats is not permitted.
