Grand Hotel (Houlgate)
The Grand Hôtel in Houlgate , a French commune in the Calvados department in the region Normandy , was opened. 1858 The former Grand Hotel with a view of the sea at No. 2, rue Baumier, was added to the list of architectural monuments in France in 2000 as Monument historique .
The building was built for the banker Albin-Aubin Vergniolle, one of the founders of the seaside resort of Houlgate, based on plans by the architect Jacques-Claude Baumier from Caen . In 1896 two pavilions were added to the rear and in 1904 a rotunda was added to the crossroads.
The neoclassic- style hotel closed in 1947 and condominiums were set up in the building that is now called Résidence les Pléiades a few years later .
