history

It was only with the emergence of the seaside resort in the 19th century that the community gained in importance. Until then, the seat of the community was in the eponymous village of Beuzeval. During the Second World War, the German Wehrmacht built an artillery and radar station here in 1942. During the bombardment in April 1944, a crater landscape remained. The area was liberated in August 1944.
