Gonneville-sur-Mer is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Auberville in the north and northeast, Villers-sur-Mer in the northeast, Saint-Vaast-en-Auge in the east, Heuland in the southeast, Douville-en-Auge in the south and southeast, Grangues in the South and southwest, Dives-sur-Mer to the west and Houlgate to the northwest.

The former route nationale 813 (today's D513) runs through the municipality .
