The small port of Dives-sur-Mer flows into the English Channel after a few meters . However, the place is popular with tourists because of its historical and urban significance.

history

In 858 the Vikings settled here in order to carry out their raids inland. A Christian miracle is said to have been wrought here as early as 1001. The legend of the church's foundation is based on this.

From the port of Dives, William the Conqueror transferred his fleet to England in 1066.

Until 1897 the place was still called Dives , since then it has been added sur-Mer .
