history

New construction of the villa (2019)

The history of the villa goes back to the family of the carter Johannes Krause and his wife Ottilia, who lived in Eisenach's western town . Her sixth daughter Christina Friederike Krause, born in 1830, used a guest performance by Circus Renz in Eisenach to persuade the director Franz Renz to take her with him and train her as an art rider . Soon she surprised professionals and audiences with her beauty and boldness on horseback and after a short time she became the main attraction of the circus. She took the stage name Mademoiselle Adeline and married a horse rider from a French circus dynasty, Baptiste Loisset. Through her appearances she made a handsome fortune. In addition, she owned an extensive collection of diamonds and precious objects of all kinds, which she owed to her numerous admirers, including many members of royal houses. Later, her husband fell insane and died in a madhouse. Loisset withdrew to her late classicist villa in Berlin's Tiergarten district , which was built according to plans by the architect Friedrich Hitzig , especially since her increasing corpulence made it difficult to pursue her profession.

In 1866 Christina Friederike Loisset had a copy of this villa built in her Eisenach home as a second home. There, too, she was very sociable and liked to chat about her experiences. Two daughters, the younger of whom also became an art rider, died of tuberculosis . Her son Ernst Loisset became a banker and found a good job in Berlin. He caught up with his mother. In 1900 she died in Berlin at the age of 70.

After the GDR was founded, a day-care center was used in the villa. In the 1960s, a red rocket was set up in the garden as a play element.

The villa has been empty since 1990, changed hands seven times before it was demolished and fell into disrepair. In 2012, it was acquired by a community of six owners who wanted to renovate it for their own use. A construction status report was requested by the Thuringian monument authority . As a result, in view of the poor state of construction, it was doubted that the budget of € 1.2 million could be adhered to, and the villa was then released from the preservation order and demolished in February 2014. As a result, the community of owners built a new building at the same location, which is externally based on the previous structure. Some decorative elements such as As the figure medallions of the previous building were as spoils remounted on the new building.
