La Rivière-Saint-Sauveur is a French commune with 2,538 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Calvados in the region of Normandy . La Rivière-Saint-Sauveur belongs to the Arrondissement Lisieux and the Canton of Honfleur-Deauville (until 2015: Canton of Honfleur ).

geography

La Rivière-Saint-Sauveur is located about five kilometers south-east of Le Havre on the Seine estuary. The municipality is crossed by the Morelle river. La Rivière-Saint-Sauveur is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sandouville on the opposite side of the Seine in the north, Ablon in the east, Gonneville-sur-Honfleur in the south and south-west and Honfleur in the west.

The A29 autoroute runs through the municipality .

history

In 1831 the community was detached from the Honfleur area and became independent.
