Grand Prix de l'Humanité 1970

The Grand Prix de l'Humanité was held from May 28 to May 30, 1970 as a stage race with three stages. The start and finish were in Le Havre .

The first stage was a time trial over five kilometers. The Czechoslovak Hladik won in 7:05 minutes ahead of the two drivers from the GDR Axel Peschel (7:05:04 min) and Siegfried Huster (7:08 min). On the second stage over 148 kilometers, Axel Peschel won in 3:33:42 h from Smolík from the ČSSR and Boubipesky from France (all at the same time). The third stage over 166 kilometers was secured by Pole Jasinski in 3:43:45 hours, ahead of Hamza from Algeria and Marek from the ČSSR.

In the overall standings, Axel Peschel from the GDR won with eight seconds ahead of his compatriot Siegfried Huster and 13 seconds ahead of the Czechoslovakian Marek. Bernd Knispel from the GDR was fourth, 34 seconds behind, while Saidchushin from the USSR was fifth, 42 seconds behind.

The GDR won the team championship in 22:15:02 hours, 31 seconds ahead of the USSR and 2:41 minutes ahead of the ČSSR.
