The Grand Théâtre de la Ville de Luxembourg is a theater , opera and dance venue in Luxembourg .

The theater was opened in 1964 after four years of construction. The large hall ("Grande Salle") has 934 seats, the small hall ("Studio") 400 seats.

The Concours Eurovision de la Chanson in 1973 and 1984 took place in the theater .

At the inauguration, the Theater Nouveau was called Théâtre de Luxembourg , then for a long time Théâtre Municipal Luxembourg and since 2003 Grand Théâtre de la Ville de Luxembourg .

The architect of the building is the French Alain Bourbonnais .
