The Grande Motte from the north |
The Grande Motte is a 3653 m high mountain in the Vanoise massif , a subgroup of the Graian Alps in the French department of Savoy .
The north side of the Grande Motte with the 'Glaciers de la Motte' is developed as a summer ski area, the south side belongs to the inner zone of the Parc National de la Vanoise .
The Grande Motte served as a model for Alpy , the official mascot of the 1992 Winter Paralympics .
