Greben 'Island ( English , Russian Остров Гребень Ostrow Greben , German ' Kamminsel ' ) is an island off the coast of Queen Marie Land . In the group of Haswell Islands , it is located immediately north of the eastern end of Haswell Island .
Soviet scientists mapped it in 1956 and gave it the descriptive name because of its appearance reminiscent of a mountain ridge . The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names translated the Russian designation into English in 1961.
