The Green Lake is next to the Andreassen Lake, the southern two small lakes on the east side of the Ulu Peninsula on the West Antarctic James Ross Island . It is located between Saint Martha Cove and Andreassen Point .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2015 after its coloration, which results from green algae and cyanobacteria .
