Green Bank is located in eastern Pocahontas County , West Virginia, in the Allegheny Mountain Range and can be reached via West Virginia Route 28 .

National Radio Quiet Zone

The city is the location of the Green Bank Observatory and therefore belongs to the National Radio Quiet Zone and therefore has no cellular or WiFi reception. Green Bank is close to the “Snowshoe” ski area.

Economy and public institutions

The village has a post office, a bank, a payphone, a public library, a retirement home, a petrol station and pizzeria, and a shop opened in 2010.
