Matthias Langkamp (born February 24, 1984 in Speyer ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

He began his career as a professional footballer in 2004 with Arminia Bielefeld and played 22 Bundesliga games for East Westphalia . For the 2005/06 season, the defender moved to VfL Wolfsburg . In the 2006/07 season he was loaned to the Zurich Grasshoppers .

For the 2007/08 season Langkamp returned to Arminia Bielefeld and signed a one-year contract. Due to his long injury break, managing director Detlev Dammeier and trainer Michael Frontzeck decided not to extend the expiring contract. Following his engagement with Arminia Bielefeld, Langkamp joined the Greek Super League participant Panionios Athens for the 2008/09 season .

After a year he moved back to Germany to Karlsruher SC , the club where his four years younger brother Sebastian Langkamp also played. He signed a contract until June 2011. This was not renewed afterwards, after which he ended his active career.
