Greenster

eRuf Roadster Greenster , also simply called Greenster for short , is the name of an electric car model that is built by Ruf , a company from Pfaffenhausen in the Upper Swabian district of Unterallgäu . Ruf specializes in the refinement of Porsche vehicles. The Greenster was developed in collaboration with Siemens on the basis of a Porsche 911 chassis.

The vehicle's electric motor has an output of 270 kW and a torque of 950  Nm from almost the first turn. This means that the Greenster accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in approx. 5 seconds. The top speed is given as 250 km / h. The lithium-ion batteries from Gaia Akkumulatorenwerke in the vehicle can be charged within 2 hours on a 400 V network and enable a range of 250 km. In addition, electrical energy can also be fed back into the grid .

The body is based on the Porsche 911 (997). For reasons of weight, Ruf has chosen a special body shape instead of a convertible top : The Greenster has integrated a roll bar as a connecting piece between the two B-pillars , which as a fixed element, together with the frame of the windscreen, protects the occupants from serious injuries in the event of a rollover. In order to completely protect the passenger compartment from the weather, two additional elements are used: a so-called "soft top" with a zipper can be attached between the roll bar and the rear and a hard top can be attached between the frame of the windscreen and the roll bar . This results in four different ways in which the roof can be opened or closed while driving. This feature, known as the Targa roof, was presented by Porsche in 1965 when the Porsche Targa was presented at the IAA.

The first Greenster was presented to the public in March 2009 at the Geneva Motor Show and will be built in a small series from 2011. The price should be 214,000 euros.
