Gregory Edward Schiano (* 1. June 1966 in Wyckoff , New Jersey ) is an American American football trainer. He was the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the National Football League (NFL) for two years . He previously coached Rutgers University in college football for eleven years .

college

Before the 2001 season, Rutgers University introduced Schiano as their new head coach. Under Schiano, the Scarlet Knights rose again to a good team and were able to celebrate numerous successes. So z. B. the first bowl participation since 1978. For these services he won various Coach of the Year (“ Trainer of the Year ”) awards.

NFL

On January 27, 2012, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed Greg Schiano as head coach. The Buccaneers finished his first season with a 7: 9 record in last place in the NFC South . After an even worse 2013 season with only four wins and twelve defeats, Schiano was fired.
