Gregor Fisher

Gregor Fisher (born December 22, 1953 in Glasgow ) is a British actor and comedian .

Life

The Scot Gregor Fisher was born in Glasgow. He grew up in the small town of Neilston and attended high school in neighboring Barrhead . He is best known in the UK for portraying Rab C Nesbitt on the eponymous sitcom Rab C Nesbitt . For the sketch show Scotch and Wry he worked with the later Scottish comedian Rikki Fulton. In 1979, Fisher and Scottish comedian Hector Nicol starred in the BBC drama Just a Boys' Game .

In the by director Michael Radford staged in 1984 George Orwell film version in 1984 embodied Fisher Parsons, the neighbors of protagonist Winston Smith. In 1988 he appeared as Franz Xaver Gruber in the dramatic television documentary Silent Mouse , which deals with the genesis of the Christmas carol " Silent Night, Holy Night ". 1995 to 1997 he played the main character in the series Baldy Man . Fisher gave his comedic talent in 2003 as Joe, manager of the hit rock star Billy Mack in the internationally successful comedy Actually… Love for the Best. In 2007 he played Mr. Bumble in the Charles Dickens film adaptation Oliver Twist . In February 2008, Fisher received BBC 2's own comedy series called Empty .

Fisher is married to Victoria Burton and has three children. He currently lives in Ayrshire, south-west Scotland .
