Gregor Mayntz
Gregor Mayntz (* 1960 in Oedt ) is a German journalist . From 2011 to March 9, 2020, he was chairman of the Federal Press Conference .
After graduating from high school at the Thomaeum in Kempen , Mayntz completed military service in the army and in the Ministry of Defense. He then studied politics, modern history and administrative law at the University of Bonn and received his doctorate with a dissertation on parliamentary reporting.
Even as a teenager he wrote for the Rheinische Post . Later Mayntz was a member of the Kempen local editorial team and then the central editorial office of RP in Düsseldorf. In 1997 he moved to the capital city office in Bonn and in 1999 moved with the parliament to Berlin .
