The Greifswalder SV 98 eV is a badminton club in Greifswald . It was founded in 1998 and played until 2004 in the various divisions of Northern Germany and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . From 2004 to the beginning of 2010, the club was part of the large Greifswalder SV 04 club before it became a pure badminton club again. The chairman is the former GDR top player Thomas Mundt .

The Greifswalder SV 98 is known for its many years of work in children's and youth sports. Numerous North German and German champions emerged from the exemplary training work in the various junior classes of the DBV . The most successful actor and longstanding figurehead is Andreas Kämmer , who now lives and plays in Berlin .

After many years in the Oberliga Nord, the club had to withdraw its first team at the beginning of the 2010/11 season due to significant personnel problems from the national game operations. Since then, the association has increasingly focused on the area of ​​promoting young talent.
