The border Schacht was a coal mine of the Royal coal plant Zauckerode . The shaft was located in the eastern part of the hard coal deposit of the Döhlen basin on Zauckeroder Flur.
history
The at 165.60 m NN scheduled shaft was 1810 to a depth of 55.50 meters drilled . From a depth of 50.50 meters, the first was the seam with a thickness of 5.00 meters intersected . The company's aim was to excavate a 3.3 hectare field on the right of the Weißeritz. This parcel, on which the Stadium of Peace is located today , belonged to the Zauckerode district at that time. The small area had no mobile connection to the rest of the mine field of the Royal Zauckerode coal works. The project was abandoned for cost reasons and the shaft was backfilled in 1812.
Mining 1946–1954
In 1946 the Freital hard coal works dug shaft 2 in order to mine the coal still pending in the field. On April 7, 1947, Wismut AG leased the shaft under the bismuth number 93 to mine coal containing uranium ore in the area. After the work was stopped, the VEB Steinkohlenwerk Freital took over the shaft in March 1949. After depletion of the pending supplies, the last hunt coal was mined on October 1, 1953.
