Grete Letterhaus
Grete Letterhaus (* 1902 in Kastellaun , Hunsrück; † 1975 ; born Thiel ) is a German contemporary witness of National Socialism.
Career
Grete Thiel was born as the daughter of the civil servant Wilhelm Thiel and Maria Elisabeth Lecher. She worked in the Central Association of Christian Textile Workers. In 1929 she married the Catholic labor leader and MP Bernhard Letterhaus , who was executed in November 1944 as a resistance fighter of July 20, 1944.
After the founding of the Federal Republic of Germany, she campaigned for commemorative work on the resistance against National Socialism.
