Ernst Mawick

Ernst Mawick (born September 11, 1902 in Bielefeld , † March 23, 1979 in Lingen (Ems) ) was a German administrative lawyer.

Career

After graduating from high school in Hamm in 1921, he completed a two-year apprenticeship at Deutsche Bank in Hamm. He then studied law and political science in Giessen, Munich and Münster. The trainee examination in 1926 was followed by a doctorate in 1928 in Gießen. After the second state examination in 1930, he worked for the city council of Hamm. In 1933 he was appointed government assessor and moved to the regional cultural office in Wroclaw as a reallocation commissioner. From 1934 to 1941 - interrupted by military service on the Western Front - he was head of the cultural office in Dortmund, and from 1941 to 1945 he was regional cultural councilor at the regional cultural administration in Danzig.

In 1946 he was once again entrusted with the management of the Dortmund Cultural Office by the British military government . On February 18, 1946, he was elected chief district director of the Grafschaft Bentheim district. He retired on October 13, 1967.
