Grete Lundt
Grete Lundt (born May 20, 1892 in Temesvár , Kingdom of Hungary , Austria-Hungary , † December 31, 1926 ) was an Austrian actress .
Life
She came from the Banat Swabian population , attended business school and worked as an office worker from 1906. She then completed singing and dance lessons as well as private acting lessons in Berlin with Gertrud Arnold .
She stood in front of a film camera for the first time at Wiener Kunstfilm in 1914, and in the following years she received leading and supporting roles in several Austrian productions. In 1920 she returned to Berlin, where she concentrated more on her stage work.
She appeared primarily at the Victor Barnowsky and Meinhard Bernauer Theaters, after which she appeared in Rosa Valetti's cabaret Die Rampe . In 1925 she made a guest appearance at the Shouwburg in Amsterdam .
On New Year's Eve 1926, Grete Lundt committed suicide on the express train from Frankfurt to Berlin out of desperation over her permanent lack of commitment through morphine . - As was reported in connection with the incident, Lundt had recently become a morphinist .
