Greville Wynne
Greville Maynard Wynne (born March 19, 1919 , † February 28, 1990 ) was a British secret service employee.
Life
Disguised as a businessman, Wynne controlled western spies in the Soviet Union . Soviet Colonel Oleg Penkowski was one of the spies he led . In 1962, Wynne was exposed, kidnapped by the Soviets in Budapest and kidnapped to Moscow . There he was sentenced to eight years in prison in 1963, but in 1964 he was exchanged for the Soviet agent Gordon Lonsdale in his home country .
He spent his twilight years on the Spanish Mediterranean island of Mallorca in Palma . There he worked as an author. He wrote an autobiography and several books dealing with the subject of espionage .
