Gray Season is a German progressive metal band from the Düsseldorf area, founded in 2006 .

history

Founded in 2006 among school friends, various line-ups and musical styles were tried out until the current end product was achieved in 2017.

In 2013 the band released their debut album Septem after a long time , was then discovered by the Noizgate Records label and signed in 2014. In the same year, the concept album was re-released on Noizegate.

Only one year later in June 2015 the band's second album entitled Invidia was released , which despite its heavier hardness and dazzling facets is far more suitable for the masses than the first album.

style

The style of the band has been subject to constant change since the founding, but is now summarized under the term Progressive Metal . "Progressive" refers to experimental rhythms and the combination with elements from a wide variety of genres. The sound is characterized by deeply tuned seven-strings and is based among other things on industrial sounds as well as early rock of the 1970s, blues and various other elements of today's music. Since the emphasis is on atmosphere and experimental songwriting, it's difficult to put the band into one category. Metal always forms the starting point. Topics that are discussed by the band in songs are largely about people themselves, their lifestyle and the impact of this on the environment and society. Usually a critical look is directed at the world.
