Griesenwerder was a river island on the Elbe in Hamburg , which arose around 1200 from part of the crumbled island of Gorieswerder ; later combined with the former Elbe island of Rugenbergen , Griesenwerder forms the northern part of the island of Hamburg-Waltershof and gave the former port of Griesenwerder its name.
