GSch-30-2 in the Sukhoi Su-25 fighter aircraft

The GRYAZEV-SHIPUNOV GSH-30-2 ( Russian Грязев-Шипунов ГШ-30-2 ) or short GSh-2-30 is a double flight of automatic cannon , which in Russian combat aircraft is used.

The cannon works according to the "guest principle" developed in 1916 (named after the German designer Karl Gast). The alternately firing barrels / pipes load each other. Compared to single-barreled / single-barreled weapons, this enables a higher cadence.

The GSch-30-2 is not derived from the Grjasew-Schipunow GSch-301 . In contrast to the GSch-301, it is a gas-pressure charger , similar in design to the Grjasew-Schipunow GSch-23 L.

The GSch-30-2 is used in the Sukhoi Su-25 fighter aircraft and in the Mi-24- Mi-24P combat helicopter (in the GSch-2-30K variant).
