The Groß Radener See , also known as the inland lake , is about five kilometers northeast of Sternberg . The approximately 1200 meters long and up to 340 meters wide body of water is part of the Sternberg lake landscape . The lake is divided into a smaller west and a larger east basin. The water is very clear. The lake is connected to the Trenntsee and the Großer Sternberger See via narrow passages . The Slavic castle Groß Raden is located on a peninsula in the east by the lake . The north bank is very steep, the eponymous town of Groß Raden is also located here. The lake is located entirely in the Sternberg urban area, but borders the municipality of Witzin on the south bank . The transition to the Trenntsee is swampy.
